Burning tanks: Russian losses in Ukraine continue to rise unabated as Vladimir Putin’s offensive in the Kharkiv region continues.
Kreminna – The drone footage comes from the same Ukraine war. They document the next losses for Russia in the bloodshed started by Kremlin autocrat Vladimir Putin in the treacherously invaded neighboring country.
Ukraine War: 63rd Brigade inflicts heavy casualties on Russia near Kreminna
The difference: While the Russian army invaded the Kharkiv region in the north and sent mainly infantry there, i.e. foot troops without mechanized units, at the same time an entire Russian tank unit was driven to ruin in the eastern Luhansk Oblast. This is shown by a new, brutal video from Ukraine that is circulating among Ukrainian military bloggers on X.
It was apparently shared by the 63rd Brigade of the Ukrainian Army, which is fighting at Kreminna together with the 60th Brigade against the Russian onslaught at Putin’s behest. And which has now shot down ten Russian tanks in a row in just one defensive battle – supposedly five main battle tanks and five infantry fighting vehicles, which can be seen at least in places in the pictures (see tweet).
Russia’s losses in the Ukraine war: Vladimir Putin lost around 3,000 tanks
As the military bloggers of the The information cannot be independently verified. It is said that the 63rd Brigade of the Ukrainian Army has been fighting near Kreminna for a long time, in the combination of battle tanks, artillery and drones often mentioned by experts.
This time the latter combination took out Putin’s next tanks. It is not clear from the image sequences how many Russian soldiers are estimated to have been wounded or even killed. At the end of April, the British Ministry of Defense, which has the battles analyzed in detail, estimated that Moscow had lost up to 450,000 soldiers through death or wounds as well as almost 3,000 tanks since the start of the attack on its western neighbor, which violated international law (February 24, 2022). the Ukrainians were destroyed or captured. Kiev reports much higher alleged Russian losses on tanks. As of May 14th, the General Staff listed 7,496 suspected destroyed Russian tanks.
Russia’s tank losses: Putin soldiers fear Ukraine drones
However, because various Western estimates deviate significantly (downward) from this number, it must be critically examined. Another example: According to the open source intelligence website Oryx, which documents military losses using photos and maps, the Russian army had lost around 2,900 tanks by April 20, 2024. By that time, Ukraine had lost an estimated 796 tanks – including at least 30 Leopard 2 tanks, according to the source.
However, Russia’s troops are clearly still unable to find a way to combat the threat from the air. For example, there is also a video circulating on When the Russians make another attempt at Kreminna, no clear plan can be seen in the video recordings. Instead, the tanks drive one after the other directly into Ukrainian artillery fire, sometimes in a row on a road, which may have made it much easier for the Ukrainians to aim in terms of coordinates.
Ukraine war in Donbass: Russians are probably targeting Kramatorsk
While the diesel supply in Russia itself is being attacked by Ukrainian drones, Putin’s army in Donbass is apparently trying to advance both from the northeast via Kreminna and from the southeast from Avdiivka towards Kramatorsk, where the Ukrainian headquarters for the east of the country is located devastated land lies.
