However, the news that has been circulating about the reduction of the minimum age of the Elderly Welfare Pension is false, since they come from a video published on a YouTube account, which contains erroneous data.

However, it should be made clear that although different reforms to the operating rules of the Pension for the Welfare of the Elderly have been presented in the Congress of the Union, none of these have been approved so far.
They have been both benches of the Morena party and the PRI that have presented reform initiatives so that the minimum age is lowered to 62 years and, in this way, more elderly people are beneficiaries of the Pension for the Welfare of the Elderly.
However, as we mentioned before, None of these reform proposals have managed to advance in the Federal Legislative Branchso the minimum age to be a beneficiary of this social program of the Ministry of Welfare continues to be 65 years.
When will the next payment drop?
For its part, according to official information from the Ministry of Welfare and the Banco del Bienestar, it will not be until after the elections on Sunday, June 2, when the processes and procedures of the different social programs will resume.
Specifically, payments of the Pension for the Well-being of the Elderly will resume starting next July 2024, taking into account that the payment of this federal social program is made in the first month of the corresponding two-month period.
Meanwhile, taking into account that people aged 65 and over receive 6 thousand pesos every two months for the Pension for the Well-being of the Elderly, 18 thousand pesos remain to be deposited in 2024 to the beneficiaries.
