Prime Video announced this Tuesday that it will begin production on ‘Elle’, a prequel to the film ‘Legally Blonde’ that will deal with the teenage life of the protagonist of the franchise in which she starred Reese witherspoon at the beginning of the century.
In a presentation of the services it will offer in the coming months, the streaming platform also detailed that the series created by Laura Kittrell will be set years before the events of the first film, in which Elle Woods (Reese witherspoon) entered Harvard to study Law with the intention of winning back her ex-boyfriend.

This one, however, will follow Woods in high school and show the events in her life that led her to become the character in the film.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this series.. Fans will learn how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinctive personality and wit in ways only our beloved Elle could. What could be better than that?” Reese Witherspoon said in a statement.
The actress Reese Witherspoon will produce the series alongside her production company, Hello Sunshine. also responsible for series such as ‘The Morning Show’, on Apple TV+.
According to the specialized media Deadline, this is the second series that Amazon’s MGM Studios is working on in the ‘Legally Blonde’ universe.
The other will be one created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, recognized for being behind series like ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘The OC’.
