Connor Bedard had another two-goal night.
Canada’s striker star Connor Bedard is in a terrible blow at the World Hockey Championships. Bedard scored two goals in the Danish net in Sunday’s match. After scoring two goals in the first game against Britain, Bedard already has four goals after the opening weekend.
Denmark vs. Bedard’s goals lifted the maple leaf jerseys to a 4–1 victory. In addition to Bedard, there were hits from Canada Dylan Cozens, Dawson Mercer and Pierre-Luc Dubois. Mercer’s fourth goal came in an empty net as Denmark tried to narrow down without a goalkeeper. Canada is the reigning world champion.
After the goals scored by Canada, music is heard in Prague, which has become familiar in connection with the domestic hockey success story. The Austrian Opus band Live is life, which is known in Finland as the goal song of Tampere’s Tappara, has been selected as the team’s goal song.
The song, which became familiar from Nokia Arena and Hakametsä, can be heard, for example, after Mercer’s hit uploaded by TSN to its X channel.
Bedard, 18, who plays for the Chicago Blackhawks, was the first booking of last summer’s booking event, which was rumored for several years before the booking event. In his first NHL season, he scored 61 points in 68 games.
Finland also has to think about ways to stop Bedard in the tournament, because the teams play in the same group in Prague. The meeting between Finland and Canada is scheduled for next Saturday.
