From the CJNG? 10 hitmen die in confrontation with Sedena, GN and GC in Michoacán

At least 10 armed civiliansallegedly from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), They lost their lives during a confrontation with firearms in Jiquilpan, Michoacán this Thursday, May 9.

The exchange of bullets would have started when agents from the Civil Guard (GC), Mexican Army and National Guard (GN) reinforced personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) in the midst of an attack not specified in statement ‘268/2024’ from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP).

The operation deployed by land and air left 10 people dead. No arrests are reported.

As a follow-up to what happened, The municipalities of Cotija, Tocumbo and Juquilpan were reinforced with surveillance by the State Police, Mexican Army and GN, meanwhile, the roads in the area remain with extra security.

So far no official information has been provided about the rest of those involved in the incident, although a helicopter was deployed for intelligence purposes.

Local media have identified the deceased as part of the CJNG.
