They catch a babysitter accused of the death of a 3-year-old boy in Comitán, Chiapas

The authorities arrested Laura “N”, suspect in the case of the sudden death of a 3-year-old boys. The incident occurred in the neighborhood known as the “7 Corners” on Sunday, May 5, 2024, when little Carlitos allegedly lost his life while under the care of the aforementioned babysitter.

The child was handed over to his mother with signs of violence and without vital signs, which triggered a search for answers by the authorities. The Chiapas Attorney General’s Office took action on the matter, deploying an exhaustive investigation to clarify the facts and determine the corresponding responsibilities.

In an effort to find justice for the little three-year-old boy, the Sierra Border District Prosecutor’s Office has acted quickly, executing the arrest warrant against Laura “N” for her alleged involvement in the crime of Homicide. This arrest is the result of the work of the Investigative Police attached to the prosecutor’s office.

According to local media, the mother left her son in the care of the nanny, without suspecting anything wrong. Her anguish took over when she arrived at her house and discovered that her youngest had died.

Now, with Laura “N” in custody, the judicial system will take over to determine her legal situation in the coming hours. Meanwhile, the Comitán community faces a moment of pain and reflection on the importance of protecting the most vulnerable in our society.
