A breath of fresh air for the healthcare of Lazio, with the arrival of new staff in hospitals and other facilities in the region. This is foreseen in the 2023-2025 hiring plan, which President Francesco Rocca presented to the unions this afternoon. A maxi plan, which Adnkronos Salute was able to view, with an investment in regional public health personnel which is the largest in the last twenty years, almost half a billion euros, in addition to the 195.5 million already allocated in 2023.
Plan
There are 8,158 new permanent hires for the two-year period 2024-2025: in detail 6,843 authorizations for 2024 and 1,315 new hires for the Jubilee 2025, to which are added 1,541 stabilizations for this year. Summing up, therefore, the maxi-investment, equal to 466 million euros over the two-year period, provides 9,699 authorizations for the recruitment of healthcare professionals. Another important brick of the ‘Rocca cure’ to strengthen the regional health service, with the aim of filling the staff shortage, reducing precarious employment, and helping to reduce waiting lists and increase services to citizens.
By adding the hirings already implemented in 2023 (4,054 units, including 1,605 stabilizations, for 195.5 million euros), we arrive at 13 thousand 753 healthcare workers – between new entries and stabilizations – for a total investment of 661,500,000 euros. A nice breath of fresh air for public health in Lazio.
The new staff – as far as we know – will also serve to make the interventions carried out with the Pnrr fully operational, such as territorial operations centers (59), community hospitals (35), community homes (131) and 298 large pieces of equipment.
The Lazio health service will go from 53,583 employees in 2023 to 62,662 in 2025. A substantial increase, equal to 17%. A bet on the future. This also allows us to better plan the welcome of the millions of faithful arriving in view of the 2025 Jubilee.
