Novelist and journalist Jamal Matar signed his book for young people, “The Ball Owner.” The novel was published by Al Ain Publishing House in Cairo, and although it is a story for young people, it has great crossover with adults. It tells a story about football and the competition that exists between children when they play it, but because of the great competition and children’s attachment to the result, the referee can end the match. It is in the case of a tie so that the defeated person does not feel sad and his family does not feel sad with him.
Jamal Matar says, at the end of the story: “Before bidding farewell to the daylight, the sun took its last look at the stadium, and it was clean as if no one had lived there for minutes. A trace of a lone foot caught her attention. She approached a little and realized that they were Khaled’s footprints that the wind could not erase. She laughed, raised her head up and walked away.
