The actor Liam McIntyrewho played JD Fenix in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, suggested in a post on Gears 6 will be officially announced at Junein line with the rumors of recent weeks.

At the beginning of the month, journalist and gaming insider Jeff Grubb had indicated the month of June for the presentation with great fanfare of the next chapter of Gears of War, with his thoughts immediately turning toXbox Games Showcase confirmed for the same month. Five years have passed since the last chapter of the series, so the hypothesis of an announcement on the most prominent green-cruciate showcase of the year seems at least plausible.
McIntyre's message (Gears 5 ending spoilers)
When asked whether JD Fenix's death at the end of Gears of War 5 is canon or not (Del can die instead, depending on the player's choices), McIntyre said he had “no idea”, but that he believes that “The Coalition will tell us everything in June”.
Clearly don't take this as an official confirmation, as the actor may not be aware of Microsoft's plans.
In any case, we won't have to wait long to find out if something is actually cooking. As previously mentioned, a new Xbox Games Showcase is scheduled soon, with The Verge's sources suggesting the date of June 9th and the possible announcement of a new Call of Duty and news on the major Xbox exclusives arriving in 2024, from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle.
