Carlos Tévez has set off all the alarms. The former Argentine player and current coach of Independiente had to be admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night after feeling severe pain in his chest.
Once at the hospital, Tévez underwent various medical examinations to determine the reason for his illness and avoid major problems, and it seems that the results have been satisfactory so he is not in danger. The technician will still undergo more tests before he is discharged.
“Our coach, Carlos Tevez, entered the La Trinidad Sanatorium in San Isidro with chest pain. They performed the corresponding studies and they were satisfactory. Tomorrow he will continue with a series of exams scheduled in advance within the framework of a general check-up that is usually be made,” they reported from the club's official media.
For now, and as reported by the club, Tévez will be hospitalized as a precaution until the corresponding studies are completed. However, if he is discharged, the Argentine could return to work this Wednesday and direct his team's training.
Tevez came to the Independiente bench in August 2023 to avoid the team's relegation to the Primera Nacional and being just one point away from qualifying for the League Cup playoffs, which led him to renew his contract until 2026.
Independiente is being the second team that Apache directs. Tévez began his career as a coach on the Rosario bench in June 2022, and although he had a one-year contract after five months he announced that he was stepping down due to disagreements with the board.
