“Four wheels on the ground”
“Down to earth” was one of Maurizio Arrivabene's mantras during his adventure in Ferrari as team principal, which began at the end of 2014 and ended before the 2019 season began. The CEO of the Maranello company, Benedetto Vignaremodulated the expression by underlining the same concept hosted by the Sustainable Future Forum ClassNBC: “We have to keep four wheels firmly planted on the ground and be aware that life is like a circuit, it's not a straight line, if you get into a corner too fast you risk crashing. We are happy with the work we are doing and we must continue to grow and improve, it is true today and it will be true tomorrow”.
Vigna also commented on the imminent arrival of Lewis Hamilton at Maranello in 2025: “Lewis will bring to us what is written in our DNA, what our founder has said many times (Enzo Ferrari used to underline that 'the most important success is the one I have yet to achieve', ed) a desire for continuous progress which is essential for a company, a team, a team to continue to be successful in the future. For the Ferrari company, having a racing soul within it is fundamental. When things are going well within a company people forget that things can change. Having people like Lewis in the house helps us remember that things can change and that one must always be alert. If you enter a corner too hard you can exit, so four wheels firmly on the ground.”
Hamilton has signed an agreement multi-year with Ferrari and therefore will drive both the single-seater that will close this technical cycle in 2025 and the one that will be completely new in 2026 both in terms of the power unit and in terms of dimensions and weight which will be revised.
