Throughout the 64 months of López Obrador's government –5 years and almost five months–, have been murdered a total of 75 Mexican journaliststhe highest number in history.
The previous amount – a product of the monitoring of the La Otra Opinión portal – means the death of just over one journalist a month and is the highest number, in the entire world, of communicators to whom criminal hands took lifein a country that is not at war.
Of the total number of informants murdered, 6 of them were women and the rest 69 men.
No case has been clarified to the full and, even worse, the most have never been investigatedwhich means that in Mexico “journalist-killing” criminals enjoy total impunity.
According to the organization Article 19, 48 journalists were murdered during the Calderón government, while 47 were murdered during the Peña administration.
And what does that mean?
Little thing, that in the Obrador government HE crime against journalists increased by 80%despite the fact that AMLO deceives and lies about the real figure.
But crime is not the only harassment against Mexican journalists since – as I documented in the Political Itinerary of March 25, 2024, titled “Who's next?” “There are 30 journalists dismissed!” –, the dismissal is another daily attack from those in power, in addition to the fact that the Mexican State imposed selective censorship on all media; press, radio and television.
Therefore, to silence López's lies and as a tribute, here are the 75 journalists murdered since December 2018 and until today.

Yes, Mexico is the most dangerous country for the practice of journalism since, on a daily basis, journalists critical of the failed AMLO government are persecuted, singled out, harassed and defamed from the highest levels of power, from the Presidential Palace.
And that's why we ask again: Until when?
At the time.
