“Today is a very important day, but I would like to reiterate how Italy has been at the forefront in breast cancer therapy for many years. We have a healthcare system that has different speeds in prevention, after Covid there was a significant increase in participation in screening with the unfortunately usual unacceptable differences between North, Center and South. Today we must have more modern tools to remember screenings, not only letters by post but also text messages, in agreement with the Regions, to insist a little more. We are a model for state-of-the-art Breast Units, so it's a shame we don't have greater adherence to screening.” The Ministry of Health Orazio Schillaci said this on the sidelines of the event in Rome dedicated to the National Day for Women's Health.
