Mexico positions itself against the United States veto at the request of Algeria to enter Palestine in the United Nations Organization (UN).
The proposal of enter Palestine into the UN received 12 votes in favor from countries such as Japan, South Korea, France and Ecuador, two abstentions -Switzerland and England-, but the American veto prevented its approval.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico expressed its regret for the situation and reaffirmed its support for the aspiration of Palestine, “We support the aspiration of Palestinein light of the prolonged stalemate in the peace process.”
The conflict intensifies with the entry of Iran into the disputewhich responded to Israel's attack on its embassy in Damascus, Syria, which left 7 Iranians dead.
Israel, for its part, has responded with its own attacks, which began on Thursday, April 18, marking the first direct confrontation between both countries.
While Israel and Iran are involved in this new episode of tensions, Palestine is left in a vulnerable position. The Israeli attacks have severely affected infrastructure, including hospitals and shelters in the Gaza Strip, worsening the already precarious conditions of millions of people.
As of Friday, April 19, there were 34,000 Palestinians killed by Israel's attacks in the Gaza Strip, according to the EFE news agency.
