There is always a first time…
Countdown to the start of the first edition of the Vicenza Classic Car Show, scheduled from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st April. Three days dedicated to the passion for classic and sports cars, organized in the pavilions of Vicenza Fair. On the catwalk of classic cars there will be models that represent a piece of history of historic motoring and which will be an opportunity for discussion between experts, collectors, Federations, Clubs and Registers, curious people and motoring enthusiasts. At the entrance of Pavilion 7three iconic protagonists of the period between the 80s and 90s: the Ferrari F40, the Bugatti EB 110 GT and the Lamborghini Diablo.
Ferrari F40
When debuted in 1987the berlinetta designed by Pininfarina caused a sensation: a bad model that seemed born for competitions while it was approved for road use. It was made in series using, almost exclusively, Kevlar and carbon composite panels. The refined mechanics combined with a chassis of the highest order made it a car with excellent dynamic qualities, very close to those of a competition prototype. Thirty-five years later, its evergreen charm remains unchanged and confirms itself as one of the most highly rated and desired cars by collectors all over the world.
Bugatti EB 110 GT
“This is a sports car produced between 1991-1995 by Bugatti Automobili, during its Italian management in the Campogalliano factories (Modena), after the relaunch of the brand by the entrepreneur Romano Artioli di Paolo Stanzani who immediately set to work to create the best high-performance car on the market”, say the organizers of the event. “After Stanzani left Bugatti and the technical direction of the car in July 1990, the project was followed by architect Giampaolo Benedini. The frame went from aluminum to carbonand the car was reworked in the original style proposed by Marcello Gandini. It was presented on 14 September 1991 in Paris and the following day in Molshein, home of the original Bugatti workshop. The date chosen was not random: September 15th is the day of Ettore Bugatti's birth, the one hundred and tenth anniversary of which fell in 1991. EB 110 GT, in fact, means Ettore Bugatti, 110 years, Gran Turismo”.
Lamborghini Diablo
“Produced between 1990-200, its name was chosen by vote of the workers. It derives, as per the tradition of the Casa Lamborghini, from the world of bullfightingand is linked to the legend of El Diablo (The Devil in Spanish), ferocious bull bred by the Duke of Veragua in the 19th century. The project was started in 1985 with the mission of succeeding the fabulous Countach produced from 1974 to 1990 in over 2200 units. The original design by Marcello Gandini was judged too aggressive by the Chrysler managers who had purchased Lamborghini in 1987 and Gandini agreed to collaborate with the Chrysler Style Center directed by Tom Gal for the creation of the definitive model, the first layout of which takes up the design of the iconic Countach”.
