Bandai Namco has resorted to what is now a real memes to present the statue inside the Collector's Edition of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeor a reproduction of Messmer the Impaler measuring 45 centimetres.
The reference is obviously to the famous 19 inches of Venom which were proudly flaunted by Sony at the presentation of the collector's edition of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with a double entendre which apparently set a precedent with regards to the communication relating to these initiatives.
Some time later it was in fact the moment of the 19 inches of Sephiroth flaunted by Square Enix for the special edition of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and now it is also the turn of Bandai Namco and the statue bundled with the Elden Ring expansion.
An unmissable opportunity
Beyond the joke that perhaps got a little boring in the meantime, there is still the notable amount of content within the Collector's Edition of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, starting precisely from this imposing statue of the 'disturbing character in question.
It must be said that the fact of being nicknamed “impaler” makes him perfectly suited to the meme in question, so we can also understand the initiative of the publisher who just couldn't miss the opportunity.
With a release date set for the same day as the launch of the long-awaited expansion, i.e. June 21, 2024, the Collector's Edition in question has a price of 249 euros, but inside there are enough elements to make it very attractive for big fans of the game.
In the special package we find the Statue of Messmer The Impaler, in fact, a 40-page artbook with hard cover and the official soundtrack, but apparently the base game, Elden Ring, is not included.
