A bus on line 314, operated by Tevere Tpl, caught fire around 1pm today, Sunday 14 April, in Rome, in via di Tor Sapienza, at the intersection with via Luigi Alemanni, intoxicating three people and also involving one parked cars, some gazebos and trees near the vehicle.
The high column of smoke was visible for kilometers across the entire south-eastern quadrant of the capital. The intervention of the Fire Brigade was unable to avoid the destruction of the vehicle, which was engulfed in flames in less than 20 minutes. Some patrols from the V Casilino Group of the Local Police and the State Police also intervened on site.
The three men who were intoxicated after inhaling the fumes from the fire were transported under code yellow to local hospitals, two to the Policlinico Umberto I and one to Vannini. Their conditions are not serious.
According to initial reconstructions, a flame broke out from the vehicle's engine. Once he realized what had happened, the driver promptly made the passengers get off the vehicle at number 87 in Via di Tor Sapienza. The flames were then extinguished thanks to the intervention of the Fire Brigade and the area was made safe.
