Joe Biden condemns attacks by Iran and reaffirms his “iron” commitment to Israel

Joe Biden, president of the United Statess spoke about the conflict that is worsening in the Middle East, after this Saturday, April 13, Iran sent drones to attack the city of Israel.

Through a statement issued on social networks, the American president has reaffirmed the unwavering and “ironclad” commitment of the United States to the security of Israel.

In a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden praised Israel's defense capabilities and strongly condemned the attack carried out by Iran.

“I just spoke to the Prime Minister [israelí Benjamín] Netanyahu to reaffirm the United States' ironclad commitment to Israel's security,” Biden said.

“I told him that Israel demonstrated a remarkable ability to defend itself and defeat even unprecedented attacks, sending a clear message to its enemies that they cannot effectively threaten Israel's security,” he added.

International coordination in the face of Iranian aggression

In his statement, Joe Biden announced his intention to convene G7 leaders to coordinate a united diplomatic response to Iran's audacious attack. Collaboration with regional allies and close communication with Israel are priorities for the US administration in the search for an effective diplomatic solution to Iranian aggression.

“We will remain in close contact with Israel's leaders,” the president added. “Although we have not seen attacks on our forces or facilities today, we will remain vigilant to all threats and will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect our people,” he summarized.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) of Iran confirmed this Saturday night the launch of the military operation 'True Promise' with dozens of drones and missiles, including ballistic missiles, against specific Israeli targets.
