After the pole position achieved in qualifying for the first GP of the season in Qatar, Aron Canet hits the encore in GP of the Americas, setting the best time ahead of three of his compatriots. In fact, they share the front row with the Fantic driver Fermin Aldeguer and Sergio GarciaWhile Albert Arenas complete the Iberian 'poker'. More disappointing, however, was the performance of the Italian drivers, and for two in particular.

Q1: illusion for Vietti

Qualifying actually started off on the right foot Celestino Viettiwhich enters Q2 by signing the fastest lap in 2:07.797 and inflicting a gap of almost half a second on Jaume Masia and Albert Arenas, with Diogo Moreira in fourth position. Q2: crashes for Vietti and Arbolino

For the Piedmontese the music changes completely in Q2, thanks to one fall occurred already in the launch lap. Bad too Tony Arbolino, also the protagonist of a fall at turn 15 and also without consequences, to the point of managing to achieve another 'one shot' lap in the final, just like Vietti. However, the two Italian drivers are unable to reach the top-10, unlike Dennis Foggiabest among the blues with the 7th half. The absolute protagonist thus turns out to be Aron Canet, who stops the clock on the last attempt available 2:07.631just over a tenth ahead of Aldeguer and Garcia.
