Molecular dogs smell a body in the depths of Lake Iseo: it could be that of the German girl who disappeared in 2023
The hope of retracing the sad fate of Chiara Lindl, the young German girl who disappeared in Lake Iseo last September, has been rekindled thanks to the presence of a dog team of volunteers from Germany. The three molecular dogs trained to detect signals coming from the depths, summoned directly by the student's family, finally gave significant signals after seven months of extensive research.
The searches so far have been coordinated by the Garda Volunteer Group, but the parents want clarity. They contacted a German team with dogs specialized in recovery operations at very deep depths.
The point identified by the dogs is located approximately 80 meters beneath the surface of Lake Iseo, a place inaccessible to humans. For this reason, if the research leads to concrete results, a special one will have to be used little robot to recover the body.
Chiara Lindl, 20, was spending her holidays in Italy last September with her sister and some friends. She fell into the water during a motorboat trip between Pisogne and Lovere. The young woman was on the bow and, according to her parents' version, she may have been pushed into the water by the risky maneuver of a friend, currently under investigation for manslaughter. Despite her immediate rescue, Chiara never resurfaced, leaving an unbridgeable void in her family and among her friends.
The depths of Lake Iseo further complicate recovery operations, with points that can reach 200 meters deep. The determination of German volunteers and the technology available could finally lead to an epilogue for this tragic story. Chiara's family could say goodbye to the young student. The hope of giving the young twenty-year-old a dignified burial is the last bastion her parents can cling to, dejected by her immense loss.
