The fifty-sixth edition of the National Military Parachuting Championship was held at the Alcantarilla Air Base between April 7 and 12 and included the participation of teams from the Army, the Civil Guard and the Air and Air Force. Space. The competition consisted of two modalities, precision and free fall training. The first, which has an individual test and another for teams, consists of trying to land in the center of an electronic disk 16 centimeters in diameter after jumping from an altitude of one thousand meters. The second modality consists of a jump from an altitude of 3,200 meters that is performed by teams made up of four jumpers who, during 35 seconds of free fall, perform a sequence of specific formations and figures.
In total seven teams from the Air and Space Army have participated (Papea-1, Papea-2, EMP-1, EMP-2, EMP-3, Ezapac and EADA); two from the Army, two from the Civil Guard and the National Women's Military Parachuting Team.
During the championship, 85 takeoffs of the T-12 of the 721 Squadron have been carried out, accounting for a total of 777 launches. In the precision modality the winners have been, in the men's category, first corporal Miguel Ángel Gómez Rivas; and in the female category, Corporal Cándida Harding Ibañez, while the winning team was the Air Force Acrobatic Parachuting Patrol (Papea-1), based at the Alcantarilla Air Base. The first team from Papea has also won in the free fall training modality, while the second from Papea (Papea-2) has come in second place, and the third place has been the EMP-2. The mayor of Alcantarilla attended the closing ceremony, held at the Air Base.
