Apple seems projected towards AI and according to a recent report the first devices with M4 chip could arrive by the end of 2024.
Only half a year has passed since the arrival of Apple devices with the M3 processor, but according to a recent report the Cupertino giant intends to accelerate on the artificial intelligence front: given the fierce competition, the bitten apple company has planned the arrival of the first Macs with M4 chips already by the end of 2024, which will be followed by all other products with the next-gen SoC. Let's find out all the details.
M4 by the end of the year
The indiscretion on Apple's possible moves comes directly from Bloomberg: according to American colleagues, the company led by Tim Cook has put its foot on the accelerator and is aiming to recover the gap on the AI front accumulated compared to the increasingly fierce competition.
Apple could then release the first Macs with M4 chip by the end of 2024then moving on to low-end MacBook Pro 14s and high-end MacBook Pros 14 and 16, as well as Mac Minis, in early 2025.
During the spring of 2025 the Cupertino company could then proceed with the new MacBook Airto close with the Mac Pro by the end of next year.
In short, the entire lineup of Apple M4 devices could arrive sooner than expected, accompanied by technological innovations on the artificial intelligence side.
What's new about Apple M4
As we have already said, the new range of Apple M4 processors will bring new features on the AI front, with the aim of close the gap against Microsoft and Google. The chips should therefore improve AI performance from both a hardware and software perspective, with many optimizations for macOS.
The program also involves the next iPhones, which will initially rely on Gemini, Google's artificial intelligence.
Regarding hardware, the M4 chips should be based on the p3 nanometer production process, with technical improvements aimed at offering better AI performance and with innovations also on the Neural Engine front. The processors could then support up to 512 GB of unified RAM, a significant leap forward compared to the current 192 GB. While waiting to find out more, Apple fans could soon get their hands on the new iPad Pro OLED, which recently appeared in an Indian registry.
