Stefan Raab and his colleague Daniel Rosemann are planning an innovation for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) next year, reports the media magazine DWDL. The two managing directors of Raab Entertainment GmbH want to distribute the preliminary decisions among the channels Pro Sieben Sat.1, RTL, ZDF and ARD. All shows should be recorded in the same studio, but with the concepts of the responsible broadcaster.
It is still unclear whether the “rescue concept” for the ESC will be implemented. However, at the FAZ's request, a ZDF spokeswoman confirmed a corresponding request from Raab Entertainment. Pro Sieben Sat.1 referred to Raab's successes in the ESC selection (for example with the singer Lena winning in 2010), but did not comment on the current planning. NDR, which is responsible for the ESC within ARD, and RTL also said they did not want to comment on the topic at the moment. Raab and Rosemann's concept apparently does not provide for more precise requirements for the individual shows; as “dwdl” writes, one condition only applies to RTL: Dieter Bohlen is not allowed to be there.
