Consisting of five categories (Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2 and DD2 Masters), the event begins on Wednesday 10 April. The first two days, Wednesday and Thursday, will be dedicated to practice sessions.
Free practice will continue until Friday morning, April 12th, followed by qualifying practice and the start of the heats.
Saturday 13 April will be entirely dedicated to the heats, while the Prefinals and Finals are scheduled for Sunday 14 April.
Mini MAX: Everything is ready for the Belgian Cup
Under the name Belgian Cup by Mini MAX, the 125 Mini MAX category promises excitement. There will be 55 drivers competing for a ticket to the 2024 RMCGF championship. Albert Friend (Strawberry Racing), winner of the 2024 Winter Cup, will be the driver to watch in Belgium.
The Briton will have to fend off attacks from 54 competitors, including Oliver Spencer (Dan Holland Racing), Zdenek Babicek (TEPZ Racing) and Nikita Ljubimov (Bovuin Power), who have already demonstrated their skills in Spain.
Junior MAX: Who's going to stop Ashcroft?
2023 RMCET Mini MAX champion and 2024 RMC Winter Cup winner in Junior MAX, Jacob Ashcroft (Dan Holland Racing) has a clear goal for Genk: to continue his winning streak.
Ashcroft will have to contend with teammate Toms Strele. The Latvian, who repeatedly demonstrated his talent on the wet Campillos track, made the challenge for victory exciting. They are joined by two other Britons, Lewis Goff of Sam Politt Racing and Cameron Nelson (Dan Holland Racing).
One Italian to keep an eye on is Lorenzo Giaquinto (MKC), who demonstrated great riding skills in Spain.
Senior MAX: all pumped up
Everything is up for grabs in Senior MAX, the premier class in Belgium, at least in terms of entries. In fact, 88 drivers will compete for victory on the 1360 meters of the Belgian track. The British drivers Kai Hunter (Hunter Motorsport), second to Campillos, Lewis Gilbert (Kraft Motorsport), Thomas Bearman (KR Sport) and Ethan Jeff-Hall (Sam Politt Motorsport) to name a few, will have to contend with the Dutch Jayden Thien ( Dan Holland Racing), winner of the RMC Winter Cup, and with local talents Vic Stevens (Bouvin Power), Beau Lowette and Olivier Jonckers (DAMES Racing). Also worth keeping an eye on are the outsiders, who have always provided surprises in Genk.
DD2: It's a “lottery”
Campillos' results should not be deceiving. Patriks Locmelis (Biedriba MRG Racing) and Ragnar Veerus (Kivi Racing Team) seemed to be a step above everyone else in the early days of the RMC Winter Cup, but then several other names emerged, including William Kristensen (RS Competition), who came close to winning in a close finish with Locmelis, and David Aulejtner (Schepers Racing).
There is a strong desire for redemption on the part of Axel Saarniala (Force Racing Finland) and a lot of anticipation for Leonardo Baccaglini (Privateer).
Master DD2: will it be Picot-Tankevicius, again?
In the DD2 Masters the rivalry between Nicolas Picot (Privateer) and Martynas Tankevicius (Privateer) is rekindled. The former is the reigning champion, while the latter comes from a victory in the 2024 RMC Winter Cup.
However, the victory is not only between these two, as there is strong competition from Fabian Bock (Kraft Motorsport). Races are races, and it's worth noting that the outcome is never guaranteed.
