Yesterday the trailer for the story of Star Wars Outlaws which revealed the release date and provided more details on what the definitive experience will be. Some players, however, have focused on a particular aspect. According to them, in fact, Ubisoft would have voluntarily made ugly the protagonist Kay Vess compared to the Venezuelan actress who gave her features, that is Humberly González (I Am Nobody, Slumberland – In the World of Dreams).
An artistic choice?
It is difficult to say whether the accusations are just the result of malice and the eternal political controversy that arose from the Gamergate swamps or whether they are in some way founded.
Looking at the images it could simply be one artistic choice, at least this is our hypothesis, in the sense that the character's scruffy appearance seems to reflect his lifestyle, as well as his work within the adventure and his origins. Kay Vess comes from a working class neighborhood of Canto Bright, on the planet Canonica and she has always fought to survive, becoming a thief during the Imperial era, and then transforming into a criminal wanted throughout the galaxy. That such a character doesn't waste too much time with hair and makeup shouldn't be surprising and comparing her appearance in the game with studio photos isn't exactly correct.
Returning to us, we remind you that Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30th on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
