Ex-adviser Bolton: Trump will withdraw the US from NATO if re-elected
Former US President Donald Trump, if re-elected as head of state, will withdraw the country from NATO. Trump's former national security adviser John Bolton spoke about Trump's desire in an interview YouTube-MeidasTouch channel.
According to him, Trump took steps towards this decision during his first term. In this regard, Bolton suggested that the withdrawal of the United States from the North Atlantic Alliance would be one of the early priorities of Trump's second term.
In addition, Trump's ex-adviser said that the former American leader could cause “irreparable” damage to the country if he is re-elected. He also advised opponents of the US withdrawal from NATO to find a way to distract Trump.
Earlier, Donald Trump's former chief strategist Stephen Bannon spoke about the former US President's attitude towards the European Union (EU) and NATO. According to him, the former American leader “is not a friend of the EU, he is not a friend of the Davos forum, and he is certainly not a friend of the technocrats in NATO.”
