Russian paratroopers broke through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and reached the outskirts of Chasov Yar
Soldiers of the 98th Airborne Division of the Russian Army broke through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the Chasov Yar area and reached the outskirts of the city. This was reported by Telegram– channel “Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring” (RusVesna).
“Continuing the offensive from Artemovsk, the advanced units of the 98th Ivanovo Airborne Division fought through the enemy’s defense lines near Chasovy Yar and approached the outskirts of the city,” the publication says.
It is noted that paratroopers from the 11th Airborne Brigade are also approaching the city from the south.
Earlier, retired Armed Forces of Ukraine major Igor Lapin compared the fate of Chasov Yar with the fate of Avdeevka. According to the military man, the retreat of the Ukrainian army from the city will be inevitable if Russian troops manage to cut Ukrainian supply lines.
