The Dubai Health Authority has set procedures that must be adhered to before heading to salons before Eid Al Fitr, to ensure prevention of any infectious diseases, and to maintain public health and safety.
The procedures set by Dubai Health include “the necessity of ensuring that the salon or barber center adheres to applying health and safety standards.”
The authority advised to avoid using new dyes, or black henna, and if using any type of dye, it should be tried on small areas of the skin before adding the dye and using it on a larger area of the body. It is also advised to avoid trying new mixtures or treatments on the skin.
She added, “It is best for each person to use their own shaving tools and cut hair and nails. If this is not available, you must ensure that the tools used are sterilized.”
It is worth noting that Dubai Municipality has confirmed the intensification of its field inspection campaigns on beauty centers and women's and men's salons in the emirate, to ensure compliance with public health and safety standards.
