The entity, belonging to the Government of El Salvador, reported that The movement was magnitude 5.5. The depth of the earthquake was 22 kilometers.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in off the coast of the city of San Vicente, in El Salvador53 km south of the mouth of the Lempa River.

- 111 km southwest of the city of San Miguel, El Salvador.
- 151 km southeast of the city of Santa Ana, El Salvador.
- 236 km southwest of the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
- 272 km southeast of Guatemala City, Guatemala.
- 304 km west of the city of Managua, Nicaragua.
According to the characteristics of the earthquake, The entity ruled out the tsunami threat for El Salvador.
