Former President of the United States and future Republican Party candidate for president Donald Trump raised his tone this Tuesday (2) against illegal immigration by blaming his rival, President Joe Biden, of the Democratic Party, of causing a “bath of blood” on the southern border and leave the country “in ruins”.
Trump had already used the concept of “bloodbath” last month to warn about the apparently economic consequences of losing the next election, which provoked rejection from Democratic politicians and voters, who accused him of promoting violence.
In the state of Michigan, one of the crucial states for the November elections, the Republican said that the arrival of illegal immigrants under the Biden administration is a “threat that has left the country in ruins.”
“I stand before you today to denounce Joe Biden's bloodbath at the border, that's what it is,” said the former president, who also accused Democrats of trying to “disinform” the context of when he used the words “bath of blood” in March.
Still in his speech, the Republican promised voters that there will be security if he returns to the White House. In an appealing tone, the former president stated that, if he loses the November elections, the United States “will cease to exist” and these will probably be the last ones held in the country.
Trump, who became American president in 2016 after promising to build a wall on the southern border with Mexico, once again placed illegal immigration at the center of his campaign.
The Biden administration suspended the Trump policy that facilitated the almost immediate return of illegal immigrants and implemented humanitarian authorization programs for people from several countries, while restricting asylum requests at the border. More than 2 million people were detained last year while illegally crossing the US southern border.
