Mark Zuckerberg and Jensen Huang team up to give us a memorable crossover in the field of fashion.
The bond between Meta and NVIDIA has reached unprecedented levels, with both companies collaborating to relentlessly advance in a competitive market.
Both are leaders in their respective sectors: Team Green dominates the computing power of artificial intelligencewhile Meta has always been at the forefront of AI development and seems determined to continue on this path.
In a post shared by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, on Instagram, we find traces of an “informal” meeting with the CEO of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang, during which the two exchanged shirtsas is done at the end of sports matches so to speak.
Although the circumstances of the meeting were not stated, the image speaks for itself, suggesting that an intense and significant dialogue took place between the two figures.
Estimate report
It is not clear when the meeting between the parties took place or when the photo was taken.
There were no first-person comments on the immortalized moment, except to a Mark Zuckerberg user who compared the NVIDIA CEO to pop star Taylor Swiftcalling it the equivalent of the technological world.
Regardless of when the meeting took place, there is little to be surprised about, considering Meta's expansionist aims in the artificial intelligence sector.
During an earnings call last year, Zuckerberg told investors that AI will be Meta's “largest investment area in 2024 for engineering and computing assets.”
Some of these investments have materialized precisely in the purchase of NVIDIA chips.
In an interview published in January in The Verge, Zuckerberg predicted that Meta will own over 340,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs by the end of this year.
A quantity that is almost enough to make the company's competitors envious, considering the importance of GPUs for training and deploying artificial intelligence models.
“We have developed the ability to do this (train AI) at a scale that could surpass that of any other single company,” Zuckerberg told The Verge. “I think a lot of people might not fully understand that.”
Calculation estimates
Meta has declared its intentions to invest significantly in the development of engineering and computing related to artificial intelligence and, in fact, the main beneficiary is undoubtedly NVIDIA, the undisputed leader in the provision of cutting-edge computing for the AI.
Zuckerberg's company recently placed additional preliminary orders of NVIDIA Blackwell B200 GPUs, making it the first big name in tech to snap up NVIDIA's latest AI “weapon” and gaining some exclusive status from Team Green.
Meta's intention would be to use the Blackwell platform to train its model Llama LLMpotentially giving itself a significant advantage over competing cradles.
In addition to NVIDIA's already large quantity of Hopper H100 GPUs, this will bring Meta's total equivalent computing power units to over 600,000.
An impressive number that probably constitutes the largest arsenal of H100s held by a single entity.
