Footage of the internal structure of the Anglo-French Storm Shadow missile has been published
The Russian military for the first time showed the internal structure of the Anglo-French long-range cruise missile Storm Shadow, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) use to strike targets. The data obtained after disassembling the missile can help improve the operation of air defense (air defense).
Recently, we have been closely involved in the study of Storm Shadow cruise missiles. We are developing technologies for their neutralization
According to experts, sometimes the operation of air defense leads to the fact that the projectile is not destroyed, but falls to the ground. In this case, the missile warheads remain. To neutralize them, special algorithms and tools have been developed that will make it possible to protect Russian territories from such arrivals.
Storm Shadow units and components were disassembled to study their characteristics
Experts disassembled the rocket, dismantled assemblies and components to study their tactical and technical characteristics. They filmed the corresponding process on video. In the footage you can see the head fairing, which is dropped when approaching the target, the defused warhead fuse, and the bottom part, where the fuse is installed.
In addition, the military captured the process of disassembling the rocket. In particular, the military captured a partially broken wing, as well as the assembly that unfolds it, the warhead structure and the main charge. Also included in the video were a turbojet engine and low-pressure compressor blades.
It is noted that judging by the state of the disassembled missile body, it can be assumed that the projectile did not fire when hitting the target. The military assumed that Storm Shadow was suppressed by electronic warfare systems (EW) or fell due to a malfunction. No traces of air defense work were found.
We take a very detailed approach to studying and working principles. Missiles are constantly being improved, but air defense forces are also being improved due to the fact that it is possible to obtain certain blocks and operating algorithms
Ukraine used Storm Shadow to attack ships of the Black Sea Fleet
Storm Shadow missiles have been in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces since May 2023. Ukraine actively uses them to strike targets. In particular, Kyiv is using them to damage the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg admitted that it was Storm Shadow and Scalp that were used by Ukraine over the past two years to attack ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. “Some of the systems and missiles that were instrumental in achieving this goal were supplied by NATO allies,” he noted.
At the same time, the secretary general of the alliance expressed the opinion that Ukraine’s successful opening of the corridor from Odessa to the Bosporus “confirms the importance of increasing missile supplies” to Kyiv.

In particular, the same missiles, according to the speaker of the Air Force of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat, attacked the Novocherkassk ship in the Feodosia area in December 2023. The vessel received damage, the nature of which was not specified. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian side tried to strike the peninsula using aircraft guided missiles.
In addition, according to Great Britain, English Storm Shadows were used during the attack on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) in Sevastopol in the fall of 2023. Then Ukraine launched missiles from two Su-24 aircraft belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. After the strike, a fire started in the headquarters building, which was only contained in the evening.
