A group of indie developers announced The Triple-i Initiativean event of 45 minutes with world premieres, exclusive gameplay and demos from some of the best independent game creators. The event will be held on April 10th at 7pm Italian time.
The showcase will contain “important announcements” for over 30 games from studios such as Evil Empire (Dead Cells), Mega Crit (Slay the Spire), Red Hook Studios (Darkest Dungeon), Heart Machine (Hyper Light Drifter), Poncle (Vampire Survivors) and many others. It promises to be a “no-frills digital showcase of blockbuster indie titles, all streamed in under an hour to respect gamers' and studios' time.”
“We felt we needed a showcase that highlighted indie games that were very different from each other, but had one thing in common: resonance with millions of players around the world,” said Berenger Dupre, marketing director of Evil Empire, in a press note. “Since the use of letters seems to be the trend in the industry, we thought that add a couple of “i”s to “indie” was a correct way to describe this new format. Plus, The Triple-i just sounds good.”
Evil Empire COO Benjamin Laulan added: “The goal is to have a direct, ad-heavy show as a studio collective, to speak directly to the players, the people who have supported us since day one. The show will last approximately 45 minutes and will feature news from the most creative and successful people. No hosting segments, no ads, no sponsorships, no extra frills, just games“.
