Hamilton's arrival
In the box Ferrari 2025 will bring one of the most important innovations in the entire history of Maranello. In fact, the doors will open for the sensational landing of the seven-time world champion under the Cavallino banner Lewis Hamilton. The veteran from Stevenage accepted the court of John Elkann and Fred Vasseur – his former team principal at the time of the ART GP and the preparatory formulas – deciding to breaking a bond with Mercedes that had lasted for 11 years.
Team triumphs
The triumphs achieved by Hamilton and the silver arrows in the first seven years of the hybrid era were, however, the result of a great team work which had a perfect finisher in the British driver. Therefore many fans wondered whether it would not have been appropriate to combine Hamilton's hiring with that of some of the Mercedes engineers most loyal to him. The name of was not missing among these Peter Bonningtonfor all 'Bono', who led the #44 in the role of track engineer from 2013 to today.
'Bono' or Adami?
At the moment, however, no rumors are filtering out of Maranello regarding a possible landing of 'Bono' in red alongside his driver. Quotations are therefore growing as to whether Riccardo Adami could play the role of Hamilton's 'guardian angel' in red. Furthermore, the engineer from Brescia knows a lot about world champions given that he joined Ferrari in 2015 to work as Sebastian Vettel's track engineer, when the German left Red Bull to pursue his Ferrari dream.
After the retirement of Vettel – with whom he had also worked at Toro Rosso – Adami became Carlos Sainz's track engineer. A possible stay at Mercedes – on the other hand – would also lead Bonnington to work with him third different driver on that team: before Hamilton, in fact, 'Bono' had been theMichael Schumacher's race engineer during Kaiser's final F1 season.
