The General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology at Dubai Police reviewed the “Rapid Test Cup”, its latest innovation in the field of evidence, which ensures that rapid examination of drugs and psychotropic substances is conducted in an accurate manner, shortening the stay of detainees from 7 hours to 10 minutes, and ensuring that there is no human intervention in interpreting the results.
The first expert, Ibtisam Abdul Rahman Al-Abdouli, Director of the Drug Observatory Center at the General Administration of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, said that the project comes within the framework of the administration’s keenness to continue developing the methods and tools applied in the General Administration of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, and to provide advanced models that contribute to supporting laboratories and raising The level of performance, and supporting efforts aimed at optimal investment in the techniques and tools used in the field of examination in laboratories.
She confirmed that the “Rapid Test Cup” project was subjected to several stages to measure its efficiency, and after 3,272 tests, the effectiveness of the examination results was confirmed.
The first expert, Ibtisam Al-Abdouli, indicated that intellectual property rights have been obtained for the contents and design of this product, and that this technology is available for request through Dubai Police if forensic laboratories nationwide wish to acquire it.
