Suzuki takes an important new step in terms of flying cars. The Japanese car manufacturer has in fact started the production of “flying cars” in the city of Iwata, Shizuoka prefecture, Japan. To do this, it made use of the partnership with SkyDrive: the two parties in fact entered into a production cooperation contract for the production of “SKYDRIVE (type SD-05)” in October last year, and have been collaborating to start production since then.
Off to production
Exactly one week ago a groundbreaking ceremony took place first rivet to wish the plant a safe operation: all the employees of Sky Works, the SkyDrive branch that will take care of the production of these “flying cars“, along with SkyDrive CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa, Suzuki President Toshihiro Suzuki and staff from both companies.

Through an official note, Suzuki announced that in addition to the aircraft that will be used at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the above-mentioned plant will also produce the aircraft intended for sale to customers. “This project is part of Suzuki's initiatives to achieve the carbon neutrality by 2030thus demonstrating its tangible and concrete commitment to a sustainable future”says the Japanese company.
