'Single, married, widowed, divorced' ('CSVD') set a historical record in Peru by remaining in theaters for 27 consecutive weeks and, with the confirmation of a second installment, Gianella Neyra, the producer of this film, expressed her happiness at the public's reception in theaters. and on the Netflix platform. The actress spoke with La República and spoke about the success of this film, but she clarifies that each story is unique and she does not intend to compare the achievements of 'CSVD' with 'Asu mare', the film by Carlos Alcántara.
In this conversation, Gianella Neyra He also talked about his theater and film project, nominated for the Platinum Awards in two categories: best Ibero-American fiction comedy and best original music. In addition, he commented how proud he is of the new stage of his couple, Christian Riveroin 'This is war' and the long-awaited return of 'Ironing the spite', the musical theater work of director Juan Carlos Mazo and his pride.
—How do you feel about the confirmation of the second installment of the film?
—I feel happy, excited, after the reception of the first (delivery) and all the congratulations it still gives us. The fact that it has been confirmed how we have been able to come together to be able to make the second one is an achievement that makes us very happy. I think the characters in the story deserved a second part. They deserve a second part, not to continue telling more about the universe of each of the characters, to continue delving deeper into the view of the girls and to be able to enjoy more of my fellow actresses who are great actors.
—The film is also one of those shortlisted for the Platinum Awards, what are your impressions about its possible entry to the final list?
—We can't deal with happiness anymore. To already be there among the 20 best Ibero-American comedies, because Spain is also on that list, is a huge source of pride. And if we arrive at 5 now, I don't know, we'll run away, we'll all go out to celebrate. But today we feel proud of our film again. Because a lot of films are presented, each one chosen by their own countries, and then the Platinum Awards choose these 20 that are part of this short list, from which the last 5 finally come out. So, now we can enter those 20 for us It's a huge one. Our music is also nominated (from the film), so let's wait to see if anyone out there gives us the surprise of being among the 5.
—But the success of the film went further, it broke it in theaters and on Netflix. Did you imagine, while you were filming the film, the impact you were going to have later?
—Imagine the amount of movie offerings that a platform like Netflix has. We never imagined that we helped ourselves stay among the top 10 for so long and, even today, from time to time it appears to us again that we are among the top 10 in Peru. The truth is that we are more than grateful for all the happiness that this film has given us. Truly, both Ani (Alva Helfer) and Gustavo Sánchez are happy on behalf of La Soga (film producer) and I. We are surprised, happy and grateful for the wonder that has been happening and will surely continue to happen with this film.

—To what do you attribute this resounding success it has had with the audience?
—I think people always look for a little laugh and fun, but it is also a comedy that has something deeper and a little beyond. So, it connects you from another place and not only makes you laugh, but at times it also makes you cry. And at times it makes you remember your friends from when you were a child. If you are a woman, you super identify with each of the women in this film, whether with Milene Vásquez's character or Patricia's character, Katia's or mine. But if you are a man or if you are older or smaller, well, we all have friends, I think it is a film in which you sit and there is no way that you cannot identify with some of the moments, with some of the stories. , and let something touch your heart directly. It is a film with which one can connect. I think that's the wonder of this film, it's very human.
—What's coming up in the second installment of 'Single, Married, Widowed, Divorced'?
—Look, the beautiful thing about when we started to imagine being able to make a second part, that was always, obviously, its fear; since, above all, when the first part is so loved by so many people, we were wondering what else could be said and Ani, thinking about it with her sister with whom she always writes, told me: 'We can't write anything, everything has already been written ', and of course, we began to realize that no, that obviously, just like all human beings, we evolve these characters too. They are very rounded characters and characters that have humanity, and when a character has humanity, then you can write many things. So what we can promise you about this second part is that the characters will continue to grow, they will continue to evolve, they will continue to heal and they will continue to have conflicts like the first.
—With this second season, can you imagine repeating the success of 'Asu mare', which even had a part 4?
—First of all, we do not compare ourselves to absolutely anyone because I believe that each story, each film, each character… is unique, independent, and each one creates their own path. So, faced with that, we really want to take it like one day at a time. We did part one, we were grateful and we continue to be grateful for everything that is happening to us with 'Single, married, widowed, divorced' and in response to that we said: 'Okay, let's do part two. We can, yes we can, we still have things to tell about the character.' We are very focused on making it the best film we can make and doing it justice, and doing justice to these beautiful characters and the story that is already told, and being able to continue surprising people with a new story and with new developments of our characters. And that's where we are focused. What is going to happen? The truth is that we will never know, nobody knows, nobody has a recipe; If not, imagine everything would be very easy and the truth is that it is not. So right now we are focused on the here and now.
—On the other hand, what do you think about the new facet of Cristian Rivero, now in charge of 'EEG'?
—I'm happy, he's super happy. He is next to his friends, he is learning something new, something different and he is always looking for new challenges, so he is super happy and I am super proud. We support each other to be better and grow, and if the couple grows, then you grow too. So, I think that's important to keep there as a guideline.
—Continuing with the successes, this year 'Planchando el despeho' returns, what can the public expect for this second season?
—So, there were many people who were unable to go. And faced with that, we said: 'Well, we are going to replace it as soon as possible that we had a date: for May.' And it's a bit like coming back with this show that you always enjoyed so much. In fact, let's polish things. We are going to fine-tune things that we were left wanting in the first season, or things that we have been learning from the public's response; but the idea is for people to dance again, for people to have catharsis, for people to iron out their spite and come out liberated like in November of last year, and that – of course – as many people as possible can go. was unable to see the first season and the people who also want to see it again. So let's hope that people buy in advance so that they don't end up being left without tickets again because there are only 19 performances. I hope that people go, that they buy that ticket, that they go in group and that they enjoy it very much.

—What are your new projects for this year?
—I have a couple more things in theater, but they are going to be revealed along the way, but in reality, right now, the first thing is 'Planchando el despho' which premieres in May. Everything points to the theater. Anyway, later, I will tell you about my path. It is a year of beautiful things and it is a year, above all, of reaping various efforts that have been made during the other years. So it's a nice year, of challenging, but happy projects.
