The height of the entire statue is seven meters.
American-Egyptian a team of archaeologists has found a huge pharaoh in Egypt of Ramses II the top of the statue. This is reported by the Reuters news agency.
The statue was found during excavations south of the city of Minya, the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities said on Monday.
The upper part of the statue is about 3.8 meters high and shows the pharaoh sitting. Ramses II ruled Egypt from about 1279–1213 BCE.
The lower part of the statue was discovered by a German archaeologist Gunther Roeder already in 1930, says Reuters. When the now discovered upper part is combined with the lower part, the height of the statue is seven meters.
Ramesses II was the third pharaoh of the 19th dynasty, who ruled Egypt for no less than 66 years. He is also known as Ramses the Great due to his military campaigns and large building projects.
Ramses' long reign was stable and prosperous, and he is considered perhaps the most significant ruler during the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt.
The mummy of Ramses was found in 1881 near Luxor. The mummy was previously kept in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, from where it was moved in 2021 to the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
