Drama in Alto Adige, 16-year-old who disappeared during an off-piste in Plan, was found dead: an avalanche hit him

A truly heartbreaking episode occurred yesterday evening, Sunday 3 March, but was only released late in the morning today. Unfortunately a 16 years old who disappeared while off-piste and was found lifeless by the rescuers who intervened to save him.

The avalanche danger was spread by the managers of the local activities in Alto Adige, after they also chose to close the gondola lift, for that situation, which alarmed everyone. When his family did not return, they raised the alarm, but then came the sad epilogue.

According to information released by some local media, the drama occurred on the evening of Sunday 3 March. Precisely in Plan, in Val Passiria, in South Tyrol. The boy was with his parents, but he had decided to go up higher with the cable car, to make a descent in solitary. Something that many fans of this sport do and that perhaps he had already done in the past.

However, as time passed, family members began to be alarmed, since they did not see him return to them. This is why they decided to launch immediately the alarm and consequently, the mountain rescue team, present on site, started the first operations research of the case.

That same evening, they had to close the gondola lift, with which the boy was gone up, because there was a high danger of avalanche. For this reason, the situation immediately appeared very serious and everyone was really very concerned worry.

Unfortunately, however, it was only around 9pm that the sad truth emerged. The mountain rescue men have found the body of the 16-year-old, now lifeless. From what they say he died after an avalanche overwhelmed him, leaving him no escape.

This episode has not upset only his family members, who awaited his return, but also those present. The danger of avalanches in the mountains must always be kept under control. In these hours the danger along the border ridge is low 3 grades out of 5due to the heavy snowfalls of recent days.
