On March 3, Izvestia correspondent Murad Magomedov showed footage from inside a house in the city of Karabulak in Ingushetia, in which militants were blocked and eliminated during the counter-terrorism operation (CTO).
In the footage you can see that in the apartment on the fourth floor where the terrorists were killed, window openings were destroyed, interior walls were damaged, broken boards, bricks, etc. were lying everywhere.
“This is the very room from which the militants tried to escape. From here they threw down the sheets tied together. They thought that they could go down from here, but the FSB special forces did not allow them to do this,” the journalist said.
The militants lived in the same apartment. At the site of their liquidation, services found machine guns, ammunition and explosive devices.
The head of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, emphasized that the operational services worked professionally. The head of the republic said that the authorities would soon assess the damage and also provide assistance to residents whose homes were damaged. According to Kalimatov, he decided that the funds would be determined from the regional budget and each case would be considered individually.
“I think that we will not leave a single family unattended,” added the head of Ingushetia.
Earlier, on March 2, a counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in part of the city of Karabulak in Ingushetia in order to neutralize a group of militants. They were going to commit high-profile terrorist crimes. FSB special forces blocked the militants in the house, and the residents of the area were evacuated. As a result, security forces eliminated six militants. It was noted that three of the militants, including the gang leader, were on the federal wanted list.
The National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) emphasized that there were no casualties among law enforcement officers or civilian casualties. Afterwards, the CTO regime in Karabulak was abolished. A criminal case was opened on the fact of an attack on the life of law enforcement officers under Art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer”).
