Prince William and Princess Anne are set to take over from Queen Camilla in a series of engagements, while King Charles' wife takes a 'break from work' for a holiday abroad. This is what the Mail On Line writes, explaining that since the shock diagnosis of cancer for King Charles in January, the queen has shouldered the burden of 13 official commitments alone.
Camilla, 76 years old, has no real commitments scheduled this week and will spend a period of rest with her family: she is scheduled to leave tomorrow on a private flight. The sovereign will return on March 11 to represent the king at Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey, while Charles will send a video message.
Last week, Camilla represented the royal family at the memorial service for King Constantine of Greece at St George's Chapel, Windsor, after William, 41, was forced to suddenly withdraw from serving his godfather due to of an unspecified “personal reason”. Her absence is not believed to have been linked to the health of her wife Kate – the Princess of Wales has not been seen in public since she underwent abdominal surgery earlier this year.
According to the English media, King Charles would have insisted on Camilla to push her to take a break deemed essential: “She is exhausted – he would have said -. She definitely deserves a bit of rest and relaxation”.
