During a discussion on the fiction, “Dottoressa Giò”, Mara Venier raised the possibility of a return of the long-running Mediaset series.
On the occasion of the interview which took place during today's broadcast of Sunday In, Barbara D'Urso has aroused curiosity in the public regarding a possible new season of the series “Doctoressa Giò”. The Neapolitan presenter had revealed that the series had remained in the hearts of many fans and that she is often still asked about this series now concluded for years.
The series which has seen her as the protagonist for several years would leave room for speculation about a possible return. The presenter, among the various questions and topics addressed with Mara Venier on Rai Uno, also addressed the story of her ex-partner and her love for her children. Continuing the interview, she came to touch on the delicate topic of her unexpected self separation from Mediaset:
I spent 23 years at Mediaset, they were years of great happiness while I was live every day. I have always been present, both in the morning and in the afternoon and in the evening. Even during the Covid period, I was there every day to keep the Italians company, I gave my life. But the way I was torn away, without any explanation…
D'Urso, visibly moved, struggled to hold back her tears, but the conversation then moved on to much lighter moments, especially when she performed her iconic greeting for the first time live on Rai Uno. During one discussion about fiction, “Dottoressa Giò”, Mara Venier raised the possibility of a return to the series. Barbara, protagonist of the television series on Mediaset between 1997 and 1998, with a return in the third season in 2019, responded:
Doctor Giò is in my heart. Um… Yes, maybe in another place or lake. Whoever wants to understand, understand.
The statement, surprising, seems to suggest that he could return to play a similar role, perhaps with a different title. Who knows what the Neapolitan presenter wanted to mention. Many fans and enthusiasts hope that the successful TV series will have a sequel, even after several years. Doctor Giò, could you come back in another guise?
Mara Venier tried to throw around some fun ideas: “We call her… Doctor cock… Like a soft-boiled egg”. They both laughed at this gaffe, playing on the similarity of pronunciation between “cock” in English and “coque” in French (in the first case, the translation refers to the male member). “This is the moment for stupidity,” exclaimed the Rai presenter, making everyone present in the studio smile.
