The pre-season tests obviously serve to verify the behavior of the car with various settings, collecting data from the single-seater both on the fastest lap and in race simulation. To do this it is necessary to be productive, with the driver asked to spend as much time as possible on the track day and a half available in the three days of testing held in Bahrain.
From this aspect, i.e. that relating to Sakhir's presence on the track, the title of 'winner' goes to Kevin Magnussen. Haas, which had taken more time on track at the end of the first day of testing, then confirmed its work with its driver. The Dane has in fact covered a total of 1293,468 kmthe equivalent of 239 laps made. His teammate, Nico Hülkenberg, also figures in the top-5 of this special ranking, 5th and last of the drivers to have completed more than 200 laps.
Behind Magnussen is the Ferrari driver Carlos Sainzwith 15 laps less, and finally Daniel Ricciardo completing the podium, followed by his former Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen. To underline the two suspensions occurred during Day 2 and Day 3 due to the manhole covers raised at the entrance to turn 11, a fact which did not allow some drivers to prolong their presence on the track. An example of this are other signatures of top teams such as Leclerc and Russell, at the tail end of the top-10, with Perez and Hamilton 14th and 15th respectively. Logan Sargeant closes the ranking, with 138 laps, even if the American's activity was limited by some technical problems that occurred to his Williams, especially at the beginning of Day 1.
