There is a launch date and cost base for Nothing's new “affordable” model, but some details still remain unclear.
Despite the large amount of information already circulating, Nothing Phone (2a) still remains largely a mystery.
Recently, however, Nothing provided a date that will dispel any doubts: the day it will be available on shelves.
The official presentation of the company's new economic proposal will take place on March 5th at 12.30pm.
Initially scheduled for this year's MWC, the phone will wait another week and will finally be revealed in the launch event called Nothing Fresh Eyeswhich will be broadcast on the London-based company's website.
Economical price
As for the price of the new device, as expected, Nothing will aim to offer consumers the most convenient solution to access its ecosystem.
According to the leaked information, the price of the phone is expected to be 349 eurosabout 100 euros less than the cost of Nothing Phone (1), the company's pioneer.
The price compromise will mean differences for the newcomer, some of which are already known and concern the hardware.
Among the main absences, there is that ofGlyph interfacethe iconic light system placed on the rear body, present since the first iteration and which (2nd) will not be able to boast, while maintaining a sober design in line with the aesthetic style of Nothing.
Another change will concern the heart of the device, which will be represented by a chipset Dimensity 7200with the first appearance of a MediaTek processor on the series.
The situation is different for cameras, on which the company has hinted there will be no particular sacrifices.
The specifications seem to point to a 50MP main camera, Samsung ISOCELL GN9, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, Samsung ISOCELL JN1.
Shrouded in mystery
The management of information on the unreleased Nothing model has been controversial in recent weeks: many renderings and rumors with a conflicting narrative have been released.
Initially, there was uncertainty regarding the configuration of the cameras, which in some models appeared arranged vertically, while some live images seemed to suggest a horizontal arrangement of the sensors.
Another controversial issue concerned the Glyph system: previous reports had reported that the Nothing Phone (2a) would ditch the rear lighting altogether.
Instead, from further leaks on the fewer LEDs than the traditional one of the series.
In short, it seems there is still a lot to confirm, so it is best to wait until March 5th and see with our own eyes how the company implicitly suggests to us in its promotional campaigns.
