The decreasing trend of Covid parameters in Italy continues. “L'incidence of cases diagnosed and reported in the period 8-14 February is equal to 4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a decrease compared to the previous week (5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the week 1-7 February); as of 14 February the occupancy of beds in the medical area was 2.4%, a decrease compared to the previous week (2.9% as of 7 February); the occupancy of beds in intensive care also decreased, equal to 0.8%, compared to the previous week (1% on 7 February); the transmissibility index (Rt) based on cases with hospitalization on 6 February is below the epidemic threshold, equal to 0.65 (0.58–0.72), stable compared to the previous week (Rt 0.66 on 30 January)”. This is what the weekly monitoring of Covid cases by the ISS-Ministry of Health control room reports.
“The percentage of reinfections is approximately 44%, a slight decrease compared to the previous week. The age group that records the highest weekly incidence rate is the over 90 group. The weekly incidence has decreased in all age groups age”, concludes the report.
