Digi24: in Germany, Romanian citizens pretended to be Ukrainians in order to receive benefits
In Germany, they uncovered Romanian citizens who pretended to be Ukrainians in order to receive benefits. Romanian TV channel reports about the criminal scheme Digi24.
It is noted that Romanians appeared in those places where German authorities offered assistance to refugees. They were called Ukrainians who left the conflict zone and needed support, like all refugees. They were provided with all conditions: accommodation, food and assistance.
Later, several volunteers realized that many refugees did not speak Ukrainian, and an investigation was launched. It turned out that more than 1.3 thousand people live in the southwest of the country alone who are not refugees from Ukraine, but only pretend that they came from there.
Earlier, State Secretary of the German Ministry of Internal Affairs Mahmut Ozdemir disclosed data on the number of Ukrainians who entered the country in 2023. According to data provided by the German department, almost 300 thousand Ukrainians entered Germany over the past year.
