A prairie of solar panels, specifically 1700 square metres, capable of releasing a power of 398 kWp. This is what the Renault Group achieved thanks to the collaboration of Sorgenia for 3 of the 5 buildings of the Italian headquarters. It is estimated that the set of panels, 847 in total and already active since last January, will be able to generate 509,000 kWh of energy from solar sources every year, avoiding the release into the atmosphere of over 194,000 kg of CO2 per year, equal to 3,518 planted trees. Currently the plant satisfies over 50% of the overall electricity requirement, but the objective is to reach 75% in the summer period.
“Our environmental and social responsibility is fully consistent with the Renaulution objectives,” says Raffaele Fusilli, CEO of Renault Italia. “Our commitments to decarbonisation, as well as security and inclusion, respond to our strategic challenges and fuel value creation. With the installation of this photovoltaic system, which follows the one recently created in our totally green European Distribution Center in Castel San Giovanni, we are adding another piece to our concrete action plan. These commitments contribute to the profound transformation of the Renault Group in Italy, which we are carrying forward with enthusiasm and determination in recent years.”
