Work continues on Project Orionor the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077with CD Projekt RED which updated today on the internal situation by announcing a real dream team of veterans at work on the game, which is being worked on primarily by the studio's North American division.
Much of the team employed is the same one that worked extensively on Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion Phantom Libertyincluding game director Gabriel Amatangelo, associate game director Paweł Sasko, creative director Igor Sarzyński and various others, thus maintaining a certain continuity of development between one chapter and another.
However, CD Projekt also wanted to point out how it studio North America has grown in size and importance, through a series of new hires that have brought in several high-profile gaming development veterans.
High profile veterans
The new introductions come from very popular teams and projects, such as Blizzard, Amazon Game Studios, Respawn Entertainment, Ubisoft and several others, with prominent figures who came together to make a notable contribution to the creation of the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
Among these new recruits we find executive producer Dan Hernberg, who previously worked on New World, Apex Legends and Diablo III, and engineering director Alan Villani, who has worked on various Warner Bros. games, including the Mortal Kombat series , the well-known Anna Meglio, co-author of the screenplays of Control, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and the new Fable and then Alexander Freed, another narrative designer, who has worked for BioWare, Obsidian and DICE.
Project Orion is entering the early stages of development effective at CD Projekt RED North America, so there is still a considerable amount of time left before this reaches a somewhat visible and measurable form, but at least it seems that the company is investing significantly in this new project, destined to act as following one of the most significant titles of these years.
