The crew of the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed a group of infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), disrupting the rotation of enemy units in forward positions. On February 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense showed a fragment of the crew’s combat work.
During aerial reconnaissance by means of objective control in the northern direction, areas of terrain with large concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel were identified. They carried out rotations at positions in the area of a settlement abandoned by civilians.
The crew of the MLRS “Grad”, having previously charged the rocket launcher, received a task for combat work and moved to the fire work area. After completing the combat mission, the artillerymen promptly turned up and left for a safe area to reload.
According to the commander of the combat vehicle with the call sign Bikin, there was not a single day when the crew did not work; targets came constantly.
On February 5, Izvestia correspondent Kirill Olkov showed how crews of the Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and heavy flamethrower systems (TOS) 1A Solntsepek of the Russian Armed Forces struck an enemy stronghold in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). To get to the positions, Russian artillery needs to make serious efforts, since the roads are broken and it is impossible to get close to the enemy, the journalist noted.
On February 2, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that enemy losses over the past month exceeded 23 thousand people killed and wounded. Also, 3 thousand weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including foreign ones, were destroyed.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
