An EMERCOM Mi-8 helicopter disappeared over Lake Onega in Karelia. The rescue agency reported this on its Telegram channel.
There were three people on board the car, which belonged to the North-Western Aviation Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Their fate is still unknown.
The helicopter went on a training flight, after which contact with it was lost. The last signal was recorded from the mobile phone of one of the helicopter passengers. A rescue team moved to the emergency area.

Rescuers later discovered debris in the area of the village of Derevyannoye. It turned out that the helicopter fell and went under the ice 11 kilometers from the coast. The depth at the accident site reaches 50 meters.
An operational headquarters and a commission to investigate the accident were created. More than 140 specialists and 33 pieces of equipment were involved in the work, as well as divers from the Leader special risk rescue operations center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations with a diving allowance of up to 60 meters. Underwater work will be carried out using the Falcon remote-controlled underwater vehicle, capable of diving to depths of up to 300 meters. Search efforts are complicated by difficult weather conditions.
